The republic of Ecuador lays in the northwestern of South America. Border countries: in the north Colombia in the east and south Perú in the west the Pacific Ocean. Ecuador is situated at the equator and has four different zones: the rimland, the andes, the lowlands of the Amazonas and the Galápagos Islands far in the Pacific Ocean. The capital city is Quito which lays 2.850 m above the sea level. From north to south there are the Andean Mountains.
