Just reading over some of the comments made. I appreciate that people are entitled to express their views. For me, too much emphasis can be placed on "sharpness" (whatever that is) if it enhances an image not to be so sharp. I think in this case that level of definition would have spoilt the image. The lack of deffinition in this image conveys movement, activity and atmosphere. If you go to the MAGNUM site and view the work of photographers who are regarded, by some, as the worlds finest, you will see many examples where 'sharpness' has been scrificed so that the image tells a story. In my view it is rather picky to be concentrating on just one aspect of an image. I really don't understand this fetish for images always eing 'perfect'.. it takes the artistry out of photography.

I like the theme, horses are very powerful beasts due to their size and proportions, they can make fantastic visual scenes in the right conditions such low-positioned light source and a bit of dust or water beneath them, but I have to vote Contra in case of this photo - the theme as I said is captivating, well spotted moment, visualy it's attractive, but the technical side of the photo doesn't satisfy me if I think of the Gallery: I think the Contrast isn't good enough, it's losing many details in shadows, the photo looks too ''flat''. Also it looks imbalanced - I am missing more of the bottom line, which - to me - was supposed to be the source of the energy of the capture.
