Martagon Lily
A picture to remind us of the past summer time.
Martagon (°) lily is a Eurasian species of lily with a widespread native region extending from Portugal through Europe and Asia as far east as Mongolia.
This plant with its scented flowers is getting more and more popular for garden use.
The species is also known as Turk's cap lily, lily of Istanbul, sultan lily or dragon lily.
Highly toxic to cats !
Dutch name : Turkse lelie
German name : Türkenbund (auch Türkenbund-Lilie genannt)
Latin name : Lilium martagon martagon
(°) : Martagon is a Turkish word which means turban.
