Night Trains No.7 – Manhattan-bound 7 Train enters Queensboro Plaza
Only fitting, I suppose, that No. 7 in this series of trains by night would feature a 7 train.
In this case, it is a Manhattan-bound 7 train approaching the lower level platform of the elevated
Queensboro Plaza station on a winter evening. Flushing-bound 7 trains stop above on the upper level.
The station has a special appeal in that it is served – in cross-platform style – by trains of both
the A- and B-Divisions of the NYC Subway system, thus affording the train enthusiast/photographer
the opportunity to see trains of different profiles meeting across the same platform.
Thus, on the lower level, the track opposite the one on which the 7 train will arrive services Manhattan-
bound N and W trains originating in Astoria, Queens, while upstairs, the platform is shared by Flushing-
bound 7 trains on one side and Astoria-bound N and W trains on the other.
