Bigleaf Hydrangea
Hydrangea (also called Hortensia) is a genus of lush flowering shrubs, at home in many gardens.
Bigleaf Hydrangea (native to Japan) is with its blue flowers one of the most striking appearances of this family.
The flowers of this typical species vary depending on the pH of the soil (acidic soils produce blue flowers, alkaline soils results in pink or purple blooms)

German name : Hortensie
Latin name : Hydrangea macrophylla

@ Peter :Inderdaad de samenstelling van de bodem bepaalt hier volledig de kleur.
Waarschijnlijk is de door jou gefotografeerde hydrangea aangeplant in kalkrijke grond waardoor hij normaliter roze bloemen zal opleveren, maar door toevoeging van bijvoorbeeld turf en aluminiumsulfaat in de grond heeft de eigenaar een meer zure biotoop gemaakt waardoor een deel van de bloemen al blauw verkleurd zijn en een ander deel nog in de overgang zijn.
Goed om weten is ook nog dat zure of kalkrijke grond geen invloed heeft op hydrangea met witte bloembollen, deze blijven steeds wit.

In italiano la chiamiamo "ortensia", ho provato a coltivarla nei miei balconi, ma purtroppo qui a Roma fa troppo caldo e il sole brucia questi fiori!Questi tuoi hanno un colore fantastico, anche la tua foto è bellissima!
