After parts of the hydraulic press and the neck of the ram's horn have been sufficiently heated, it is now brought into an approximately circular shape in the press under high mechanical pressure. This part of the horn is later connected to the hazelnut branch to form a walking stick or shepherd's crook. John is self-taught and has perfected his skill over several years.

Nachdem Teile der Hdraulikpresse und der Hals des Widderhorns ausreichend erhitzt wurden, wird dieser nun in der Presse, unter hohem mechanischen Druck, in eine annähernd kreisrunde Form gebracht. Dieser Teil des Horns wird später mit dem Haselnusszweig zu einem Wanderstab oder Schäferstab verbunden. John ist Autodidakt und hat seine Fertigkeit im Laufe mehrerer Jahre perfektioniert.
