Some memorials fixed into the rocks where the POWs had to hammer out to buit the railway trail.
Listening to the stories from some veterans we met before some years ago on the same place the talk was horrific. The difficulty of the labour, the brutality the Japanese guards inflicted on the POWs, and the disease.

    es ist schon schlimm, dass gewissenlose Zeitgenossen überall in der Welt ihre überflüssigen "Statussymbole" hinterlassen !!!!

      Danke, aber hier ist es anders. Die hinterlassenen Fähnchen, Personenbilder der Betroffenen und Gedenkschriften in den Bohrlöchern und Spalten der von den POWs unter unmenschlichen Bedingungen hart bearbeiteten Felsen wurden von Angehörigen und ehemaligen Kameraden der POWs hinterlassen und sind keine Statussymbole der Länder, die hier dargestellt werden. Vielleicht wird die Dokumentation meines Fotos missverstanden. Liebe Grüße aus Thailand Wolfgang
