Serenity along the Yellow Breeches - A Late Summer into Early Autumn Impression

A moment of serenity in the dappled late afternoon sun of a late summer’s day.
And from the fallen leaves, can autumn be far away?

This inviting spot along the Yellow Breeches Creek is on the grounds
of the Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania.

This tributary of the Susquehanna River in south-central Pennsylvania is fed from a limestone source and can, in times of heavy rainfall, become off-color. During the Revolutionary War, the British troops found this out, first-hand. Story has it that when the Redcoats washed their white breeches in these waters, the garments came out distinctly yellow!

The creek is a favorite spot for fly fishing.

This impression was created from an original Ektachrome transparency. The EPR-64
film was shot in a Nikon FE2 through the Nikkor AIs 35-135mm f/3.5-4.5 manual focus lens.
