The Living Forest (441) : Robin

I guess that everybody knows this beautiful and photogenic little fellow, the robin, my favourite bird.

This passerine bird with its striking orange breast is one of the few birds with both male and female bearing a similar plumage.

The robin is the only bird that can be heard singing in the forest all year round, even in harsh winter times and bad weather conditions.
This is because it holds very strong to its territory and always defends it, even to the death (and not only during the mating season).

German name : Rotkehlchen
Latin name : Erithacus rubecula

In einem wunderbaren Licht hast du das Rotkehlchen erwischt. So kommen die Farben prima zur Geltung und die Schärfe sitzt perfekt. Eine sehr schöne Aufnahme.

Ach, wie schön!!! Ich mag ihn auch - und er gehört im anglo-amerikanischen Raum ja zu Weihnachten. Ich sehe ihn an unseren Futterstellen im Garten kaum noch. Deine Aufnahme mit dem aufgerissenen Schnäbelchen gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut! LG! a.
