Hi Janos, thank you for your comment ... Vancouver and suburbs (not BC) are known amongst Vancouverites as Lotusland where you also rust instead of rest :-)))) - and Toronto in June cannot be called the great frozen north as I have seen you refer to it !!
cheers,
Adele
Janos,
Yes, I just checked the time period for the Bauhaus movement, and it was mainly between 1919 and 1933--this station was designed in 1932-33. I purposely kept this shot, and the other two posted quite austere to convey the architecture's statement. Thanks for your visit and comment.

Hi Janos,
I agree with you...Turks are not totally stopped here in Sisak in year of 1593., but their losses were great and they were slow in its progress in Europe.
Thank you.
Dear Janos Hi,
Thanks very much for the information about the impressive Toronto Opera House. You are very lucky to enjoy performances in such a place and I'm very glad that you also enjoyed "Les Dialogues". Don't be so much impressed with the cost of the Russian construction. I'm sure that if the architect had been recommended to the Greek government for building an Opera House the final cost would have exceeded that of St.Petersburg's! For reasons that you know very well...

Janos Hi,
Thank you very much for correcting me.
You are absolutely right!! Of course I know Arthur Koestler and I've read his great "Darkness at Noon" (1941) many years ago but with an entirely different title in the greek translation (The Zero and the Infinite) that caused all the confusion...Great but also morbid book. I have two more of his books in my book case, "Arrival and Depart" and "The Lotus and the Robot"
And, of course, you are right "Heart of Darkness" is Joseph Conrad's book in which Dr Krutz tries to plundge into the depths of his own soul..Anyway, to my opinion, your photo could have been isspired by either book! You see sometimes photography can induce litterary discussion!
my best regards alexander
