A Varied Thrush

taken in December at Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, Vancouver ... and for now the last of my little bird series - a lot more are waiting in my archives :-))

The varied thrush breeds in western North America from Alaska to northern California. It is migratory, with northern breeders moving south within or somewhat beyond the breeding range. Other populations may only move altitudinally. This species is an improbable transatlantic vagrant, but there are now two accepted western European records, both in Great Britain, in 1982 and on Papa Westray in the Orkney Islands .

Une merveilleuse lumière sur l'oiseau, le tronc d'arbre et l'espace vert végétal ! J'adore la belle clarté de ta prise, la défintion du plumage sur le haut de l'oiseau et ses couleurs, un noir superbe et un orange joyeux! La mise au point a été faite sur le profil de l'oiseau, sa tête, son oeil noir luisant, ses ailes repliées : tout est très précis dans cette partie, l'ensemble est superbe! Compliments Adele!   danke, liebe Ursula ... ich bin ueberrascht, dass es einen deutschen Namen fuer sie gibt, da es sie ja gar nicht in Deutschland gibt - aber, hab es gegugelt, und da wird sie auf Englisch und Deutsh beschrieben :-)))
