A pier to embark on the gondola with the same color of the sea, shot from above ... beautiful! Nice to see it deserted (at the moment).
Recently in Venice in every single day there have been 100,000 tourist presences ...
All without a protective mask walking among people in carnival costumes, joking, taking selfies and drinking spritzes ...little sensitivity to the problems that are worring us and very little empathy towards the brothers of Ukraine who have fallen into the abyss of despair.
A very bad show to watch.

  ...I'm with you in all points you mention. But: in Germany we have cancelled public carnival in the big cities. When Venice thinks, it must be - then they are thinking of the money the tourists will bring. When business and money is more worth than the health than they show only once more the ugly side of business...Ciao, mia cara amica, io ti abbraccio! Ansgar

  In Venice money is called " Sghei" .
  The thought dedicated to sghei is not so smart but justifiable from the point of view of the city governance, for the reason that Venice now lives on tourism and the expenses to maintain the city are enormous..What shocks me is that people is not really mind and heart connected with the World and keep on looking for fun whatever drama is happening around them...I'm afraid this is becoming a serious problem for humans

  ..oh..yes...we cancelled our carnival not because of the war, but of the pandemic rules...I think, people want their fun (after two years of Corona it is understandable) and to make party and dance and so on is for a lot of people a way to forget all about of the present problems...This is one side, I can understand. But, as you said, there's another side: the increasing loss of any sensibility for others and their problems...unfortunately lots of young people are only interested in themselves (selfies, selfies..), they have no empathy for other people's problems and pain....Sometimes I'm tired of being here...but then again I see the flowers in the springtime and the little ones...and there is a little hope...we shall help to grow it...Ciao, buona giornata, cara Crissy!

Einmal wollte ich Gondel fahren, aber mein Geld reichte nicht.
Schöne Aufnahme, die bestimmt bei vielen Betrachtern Erinnerungen wach werden lässt.

  ..Gondel fahren ist teuer: 80 € für 45 min....muß ich mir nicht geben. Jetzt im Winter wollten sie ständig Sonderpreise machen - aber bei der Kälte dann auch noch in der Gondel...ohne mich! Liebe Grüße, Ansgar
