Borage

Borage (also known as Starflower) is a herb, native to the Mediterranean region, that is known for its culinary properties.
It belongs to the pioneer vegetation on very moist rich soils, but the plant is also cultivated for garden use.

The bright blue and star shaped Borage flowers are the most attractive feature of this plant by the prominent purple-black anthers that form a cone in the center, let's say the beauty spot of the flower.

Dutch name : Bernagie (ook Komkommerkruid genoemd)
German name : Borretsch (auch Gurkenkraut genannt)
Latin name : Borago officinalis
