The heart of the Yellowstone NP is volcanism, home of one of the largest and most dangerous super-volcanos on Earth. The size of the Yellowstone caldera is 45 x 85 km. Huge eruptions occured 2 million, 1.3 million and 640.000 years ago ... so it's time for another one !
