Death Monument
A hollow stone monument, seemingly lost in the middle of the forest in Greensboro, Fl.
It is inscribed:
" On April 10 1840 Mrs. Nancy Jane Mclane, age 40, was shot and Catherine McLane, age 13, was shot and scalped by Indians.
Two small children were killed with the pine knot inclosed herein.
Erected by S.W. Anderson & C.L. Fowler
