We stopped near Denali to avoid the overcrowded campgrounds. It was worth it: a nice and quiet campground, laced with Alaskan Poppies.
And just in case you know me, you know, I LOVE poppies :-))

    Ich liebe Mohnblüten, egal ob sie in Deutschland oder Alaska wachsen und auch egal, ob sie Mohnblumen oder Poppies heißen. :-)
    Ein Prachtexemplar, in gewohnter Qualität aufgenommen, ergo eine Freude für das Auge.

    OT: MyZeil habe nicht etwa ich erfunden, nee nimmer und nie, ich hasse dieses Kauderwelsch.
    My (engl.) Zeil (deutscher Straßenname) - aber ich habe längst resigniert, denn ich werde nichts daran ändern können.

    quiet a cheerful and "grounded" version of the poppy – just look at his strong and durable stem: nothing wistful, windblown or fragile about it! it doesn't sway in the wind, it doesn't seem to bleach or lose petals easily. it just shines in all its bright and glorious orangeness! i guess it's because of the very place it chose to settle in – ALASKA! grizzly bears and grisly weather. you'd better be tough and resilient in it! so shine on, hearty one! beautifully captured, matthias! greetings, sabine.
