After what seemed the never ending cold and rain that we had this springtime, birds have offspring at last.
This mallard mom is now continuously busy to keep a close eye on her little ones.

The ducklings of the mallard are precocious and can swim and feed themselves on insects and plants as soon as they hatch, although they always stay near their mother for protection.

Dutch name : Wilde eend
German name : Stockente
Latin name : Anas platyrhynchos

Wunderbares Motiv, klasse Farben, Schärfe super, mir persönlich fehlt allerdings nach unten ein wenig Platz, dies würde dieses traumhaft schöne Motiv noch besser zur Geltung kommen lassen... LG Wilfried
