La bibliothèque Mitchell, Sydney

La Bibliothèque d’État de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud, dont une partie est connue sous le nom de Mitchell Library, est une grande bibliothèque de collections spéciales, de référence et de recherche classée au patrimoine ouverte au public et l’une des plus anciennes bibliothèques d’Australie. Fondée en 1869, ses collections remontent à l’Australian Subscription Library établie dans la colonie de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud (aujourd’hui un État d’Australie) en 1826.

The Mitchell Library, Sydney
The State Library of New South Wales, part of which is known as the Mitchell Library, is a large heritage-listed special collections, reference and research library open to the public and is one of the oldest libraries in Australia. Established in 1869 its collections date back to the Australian Subscription Library established in the colony of New South Wales (now a state of Australia) in 1826.[4]

A very large library with thousands of books and only a few visitors and the majority is not looking into a book but on their smartphone or on a PC monitor. Symptomatic for our computer age. An interesting capture of this library with its long history.
