A forested plateau known as Phu Luang (Large Mountain) covers three districts in Loei Province: Phu Ruea, Phu Luang and Dan Sai.

On the flying letters written "Hak Phu Luang" in Laos Language "I love Phu Luang and it is the meaning of “mountain of the King”.
