In the days between Chrismas and New Year there is a lot of noice in the night-times. Ugly persons covered with sheeps fur in terrific masks try to frighten the winter demons in the landscapes between the river Inn and the Bohemian woodlands. all them are known as the "Perchten", the followship of the old goddess "Perchta", a woman with an bright and lovely face like the spring and another one ugly and signed by the death like the winter itsself. in the international maskmuseum in Augsburg-Diedorf you can watch bout 5000 old and authentic masks from all around the world: www.maskmuseum.de
