The Living Forest (720) : Robin

The robin is one of the only birds that can be heard singing in the forest in winter.

This is because it holds very strong to its territory all year round and defends it even to the death.

But did you know that, in winter, also the female sings..., which is quite exceptional among birds !!

German name : Rotkehlchen
Latin name : Erithacus rubecula

Winter is back and so are robins ... a typical attitude for this one, with good colours, sharpness and depth of field. I'm not sure about the panoramic format though, but it is of no consequence.

Eine wunderbare Aufnahme - die Rotkehlchen sind sooo schöne Vögel. Im englischsprachigen Raum sind sie sehr häufig mit auf Weihnachtskarten abgebildet. Das mit demwinterlichen Gesang hab ich sooo nicht gewusst... VG!
