Tufted Vetch

Deep hidden between the grasses, I spotted this Tufted Vetch (also occasionally known as Cow Vetch or Bird Vetch).
It’s a rather unusual but fast-growing wild plant with drooping purple to violet flowers.
Tufted Vetch is highly appreciated by bees and butterflies as a rich source of nectar.

Dutch name : Vogelwikke
German name : Vogel-Wicke
Latin name : Vicia cracca

Ein wunderschönes Sommerwiesenbild! Die kleinen Blüten der Vogelwicke leuchten förmlich zwischen dem kräftigen Grün.
