If there was a King Arthur, a Camelot and knights of the Round Table, then this place is a good candidate: Cadbury Castle within sight of the Gladstonebury Tor to the North. A strong gate house and a representative hall, expensive imported ware dating back to the 5th century AD have been found in this impressive place.

Arthur is gone...Tristam in Careol
Sleeps with a broken sword - And
Yseult sleeps besides him, where the westering waters roll

Lancelot is fallen...the ardent helms that shone
So knightly and the splintered lances rust
In the anonymous mould of Avalon:
Gawain and Gareth and Galahad - all are dust.

Where do the vanes and towers of Camelot
And tall Tintagel crumble? Where do those tragic
Lovers and their bright-eyed Ladies rot?
We cannot tell - for lost is Merlin's magic.

We're Knights of the Round Table.
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.
