I am a retired 'civil servant-- I use to work two jobs; now I work none :)
I have a Cannon AE-1-- a Sony digital and a Konica-Minolta digital.
My preference is to the digital as it suites my needs--
With a few memory cards and rechargeable batteries you are all set.
The thing that pushed me to move to digital was when I found it difficult to purchase 100 asa film. "Nobody ever asks for it" 'Oh no-- well I do'!!
I travel upstate NY-- I try to get to Alaska once a year for the salmon run and to take pictures.
