03.10 in den Farben der Atlatic Coast Line.

Laut "Beipackzettel" dieses Modells sollen die amerikanischen Besatzer eine 03.10 nach dem Krieg so umlackiert haben. Vielleicht kann ja einer meiner treuen Besucher und Betrachter meiner Fotos etwas Genaueres über das Vorbild dieses Modells sagen. Im Voraus schon mal besten Dank.

    Hello...you guys are close!
    First of all, this loco was real, and actually traveleld in Germany under these colors.
    The model is correct (except for the "Auschnitt" in the front for the "Drehgestell")
    The soldiers that came to Germany in 1945 as members of the US Transportation Corp were practically all employees of Railroad companies in the US, often kept together to improve operational cohesion.
    When I lived in the US, I met a couple of these ex-GI's, one of them had worked at the railroad in Belgium, and was all surprised when I gave him a picture of him and his loco, found in an old album at a friend's house.
    It was common practice for these units to decorate the equipement with the logos of their home company, in this case the ACL, that was also running streamlined trains along the East Coast, all the way to Miami.
    This loco never went actually to the US.
    I am looking at a picture of the loco, in full "Original Stromlinienverkleidung" coming out of "Generalüberholung" in the Henschel factory in Kassel, where the GI's of the Atlantic Coast line were stationed. (Book: Die Stromlinien-Dampfloks der Reichsbahn , Alfred B; Gottwald, Franfch Verlag)

    Ja, was die so schreiben.
    Ich weiß nur, daß 19 1001(das berühmte 1´Do1´-Dampfmotor-Einzelstück) in die Staaten gebracht wurde, zusammen mit einer Kondens-52. Beide wurden sehr bald verschrottet.

    Aber wenn man die 19 1001 nicht im Programm hat, verkauft man der geschätzten Kundschaft eben eine 03.10 - wer merkt das schon! Wenigstens die Farbgebung und das Emblem stimmen. Auch die Stromschale war ähnlich.

    Das ist kein Vorwurf an Dich, das Modell ist ja ganz schön.
    Aber zwischen beiden Loks liegen hinsichtlich des Antriebs Welten!
