A Gondola Shipyard (squero) in Venice

In a small alleyway of Venice there is a small shipyard where the black beauties are still made by handicraft.
Prepared to glide silently through the chanels of Venice.
Most romantic in the silvery light of the moon.

I remember this place in Venice. It made a deep impression to me too. These elegant boats are made by handicraft, unbelievable! I was told that they are very, very expensive : ) Beautifully rendered here in BW. Excellent shot.

es ist immer wieder spannend und schön
die kleine traditionswerft
vom gegenüber liegenden kanalufer
zu beobachten - vor allem natürlich im sommer,
wenn die gondelbauer im freien arbeiten :-))

A most atmospheric capture of this old world craft. I love how the smooth, graceful forms of the gondolas are complimented by the rough-hewn textures of the buildings. The black and white presentation works very well.
