At Khao Laem Dam

The photo was taken at the top of the dam.
Khao Laem Dam was named to Vajiralongkorn Dam the name of King Rama X.
It is the first stone filling dam in Thailand that is coated with reinforced concrete. L
This rockfill Dam with a reinforced concrete surface measuring 92 metres high and its crest is 10 metres wide and 1,019 metres long stretching across the Khwae Noi River.

      Der Stau vom Maenam Khwae Noi setzte ganze Dörfer und Kulturstätten unter Wasser, wie hier z.B. am Ende des Stausees in Sangtkhlaburi, Gruß Wolfgang

      Dass hier so viele Menschen ihre Dörfer verlassen mussten und sogar auch noch Kulturstätten geopfert wurden, das ist natürlich ein Drama ohnegleichen  !

      Als ich im Februar 1981 die Gegend bereiste und zu einem Dorf der Karen Flüchtlinge fuhr, war der Maenam Khwae Noi noch ein Fluss und der Stausee begann sich erst ganz langsam zu füllen. Meine Fotos hiervon sind Dias und leider noch nicht gescannt, Gruß Wolfgang
