At the end of the day...

...one of my least favorite expressions when used by "talking heads" on
news programs as a prelude to words of wisdom they are about to utter.

But I have nothing against "At the end of the day" as a descriptor for that very
special ambiance that can delight a photographer when shooting at sunset.

And if these heads were talking, I'd hope they were not beginning sentences with
that phrase, but that they were instead saying how much they were enjoying
the view, the calm, and each other's company "...at the end of the day."

This moment was captured on Fuji NPS-160 film in my Contax G1 while shooting
Washington summertime activities a few years ago for my broadcast organization's web site.

The view is from the Capitol's West Plaza, looking down the Reflecting Pool toward the
Washington Monument at the west end of the Mall. The construction crane has stopped its travel
for the day. Even the ducks seem to be enjoying the serenity, yes, "...at the end of the day."

The image is available in archival gallery prints and as a custom printed
Photo Note Card, with or without the talking-head-y phrase ;-)

A good romantic image showing off the sunset and city-scape.

Very romantic, and empatic words, Steve!
    I like that very much!

The phrase in question is going to be used inflationary as well now in ol´Europe!
Should we say - in the end of the day - it is all-too suitable for too many things that may occur during a day?
So - things come and go, and in the end of a day we´ll take to another phrase! ;-)

Stay well and have a good weekend!
Regards from warm and sunny southwestern Germany
