Beelitz Heilstätten

Yesterday a friend and I did a photo tour around a very old area just outside Berlin called Beelitz Heilstätten. At the end of the 1800s a large hospital complex, a total of 64 buildings, was built here to handle the tuberculous epidemic that was bringing Berlin to a standstill due to the high death rate.

During the 2 world wars it hospital was used by the military and then later by the Russia ....... the complex was closed in 1994 and now stands under Heritage.
12 of the buildings are open for photo tour and some of the old buildings are also used by film studios.

great view of the former hospital Jenipher and I like the natural colours, the sky and the kind of gloomy atmosphere, sad history..

a stately old building with a sad history, but now preserved and making indeed a perfect background for films .... your capture shows the fine architecture in great details, and I like the somewhat dark tones and mood !!!
    greetings, Adele
