Beginning of a wonderful trip

posting these Namib desert pictures made me travel back in time - 4 years ago June 2016 - where I had the crazy idea to trek through this desert starting from Deadvlei over the big Daddy dune into the nowhere until we reached the ocean. Then up along the Skeleton coast, Walvis Bay till we reached Swakopmund. We all had our own little tent and bedroll that we set up every night and slept under the amazing starry night. (the most incredible thing!)
Three great guys always drove ahead of us, around the dunes, meanwhile we took the 'shortcut' over the dunes and found us a place to set up our camp. They welcomed us with a food tent and bathroom and great snacks and drinks to recover and then cooked us the most delicious meal every night. After 4 days they even set up a more than needed shower, haha, but water was or is a precious thing.
All we needed to carry every day where 4l of water, lunch, snacks, extra clothes and me the camera equipment ;)
It turned out to be one of the best trips I have ever taken :) and after 10 days and 8 hours of hiking every day, I was exhausted in a very good way but felt absolutely great ! one of those moments you are padding on your own shoulders saying: you did it! Great job :)
Let me take you on that trip........
..... starting at the Rostock Ridge Desert Lodge to get used to the climate before the big trekking began or begins :) Have fun
