After speaking to Asafar, one of the patriarchs of the tribe Mérinides Berber, sat together, I asked if I could photograph him.

He said no!

After an hour, mint tea, and a conversation I was able to photograph him.

The conversation was good. He spoke Arabic, I spoke English. We both understood not a word.
But we agreed.
And laughed a lot!
