Black Cherry plum

At last, springtime is here in all its glory !

The small pink blossoms in this spring scene belong to the Black Cherry plum.
After flowering, dark burgundy colored leaves appear on the tree, later maturing to dark green.
Edible, dark red and spherical fruits are decorating this tree in autumn.

Dutch name : Kerspruim (ook Kroosjespruim genoemd)
German name : Blutpflaume
Latin name : Prunus cerasifera nigra
