Christoph Columbus the discoverer of a new continent
The people in Baracoa belief that Christoph Columbus was landed in the bay of Baracoa in November 27th 1492. This memorial is placed eastside of Baracoa.
But the smalltown Baracoa stays in clinch with an other small town a bit more northwestern village called Bariay in Cuban provinz Holguín.
The paintig in Columbus logbook shows the mesa mountain in background like a saddle and that mountain is located in Holguín.
