Climbing to the Simi La in 4,330 metres altitude
The Friendship highway heading west to cross Simi-la, the last mountain pass before reaching Gyantse.
It was quite hard to climb to such an high altitude, but no problem was happen, I was prepared in the right way. In Lhasa we'd enough time to get acclimatized to the highness.
An other serious problem happened in this altitude, it is important is think about this all time:
The control of tire pressure.
Every 100 m up or down the pressure will change to get too low or too high.
My picture is taken in May 2004 with a NIKON CoolPix 5000.

Das Gefühl ist immer ein besonderes, das ich im Himalaya empfinde. Von Bangkok sind es nur zwei Flugstunden in paradiesische Gegenden des gewaltigen Gebirgsmassivs. Tibet ist immer etwas besonderes, denn durch die hohe Lage des ganzen Plateaus ist man den Berggipfeln viel näher.
