Clown Triggerfish at Similan

The leopard triggerfish, as it's officially named, is not nearly as aggressive as its big brother, the giant Titan triggerfish, which occurs relatively often in Thai waters and has many innocent scuba divers on its conscience (including several times myself).
There are about 40 known species. The name triggerfish comes from the fact that the pushers can close their first spine of the dorsal fin with the help of a closing mechanism.
Triggerfish reach a size of up to 70 cm in the sea,

      Der in deutsch genannte Leopard-Drückerfisch ist ein Salzwasserfisch aus der Familie der Drückerfische und der Ordnung der Kugelfischverwandten. Also auch verwandt mit dem Fugo, den Giftfisch, den man in Japan so gerne als Sashimi verzerrt. Dieser jedoch ist ungenießbar. Gruß Wolfgang
