Crescent Moon 5

Taken on the evening of February 17th from South Pasadena California. I was using my 6" telescope with a 25mm eyepiece and hand held the camera up to the eyepiece. Getting a hard focus was extremely difficult--in part because the Moon was moving quickly though the field, so to get a good focus then steady the camera and take the picture took several seconds. Out of 48 shots this one turned out the best so far. Processed using Lightroom 2.6 software.

thank you vj! i forgot to mention in the caption that the magnification was 40x (with the eyepiece) and that i was using a macro lens to take the image. i'm going to try this technique with objects like Saturn or Jupiter as soon as they're visible.
