Dawning the Headdress to Find Pow Wow Highway

Its just a metaphor for the trail of tears. That's when his ancestors gave up their land for the quest of American gold. They really had no choice. Just about all their food sources had been killed off by White American. Back then Americans felt by killing Native Americans was their god given right, and that they where doing gods bidding. Its a case of being more powerful and having god on your side. At times Native men women and children where massacred. IN short that was how the west was won. In 1978 American passed a bill to take native American children from their homes on native land and relocated into white mormon homes because they felt native children had a better chance to succeed in life, To day there is the children's reconciliation organization that is helping to erase the scars.

Dancing is just on indigenous tool that bonds the nation and the family and changes a tear to a smile.

The dress of the dancers are not vibrant and colorful. They are colors of the earth, brown, gray, blue white and red.

colors of the earth worn by a people that treated the earth kindly and well! it still cries and laughs with them, i guess, just as the fingers of the spread hand correspond beautifully with the sunkissed headress made of what the earth provides… greetings, sabine.
