  Dear friend,
  The title refers more to the city than to peace, as wars have always been since man exists on the planet. The old Venice (the beautiful one of my great-grandparents) is crumbling little by little. The necessary maintenance works are not carried out due to lack of adequate manpower or at least they are poorly performed, increasing the feeling of degradation.

  ...yes, you're right all the way...it's a shame - there are so many parts of the city, houses, corners in a terrible state. I photographed this bad parts too but I will not show it, because it's so sad and Venezia is still worth to be seen in its better views. It's all a question of money and we have the same problem here in our country...there are lots of good old houses and they have to be preserved - but if you buy such an old one, there's an authority that tells you how to renew it exactly in the old style and ways. And nobody has the money for this...So we let them crumble down and build a new one...Strange ways, my dear...Ciao, mia cara sorella - buona giornata! Ansgar
