Mal wieder saß ich im Südpark in einem Gebüsch am See, wo die Chance groß ist, eine Aufnahme von einem Eisvogel zu bekommen. Außerdem saß ein Graureiher nur einen Ast entfernt im See und wartete auf Beute. Zuerst flog unverhofft ein Eisvogel heran und setzte sich mit einem silbernen Fisch im Schnabel auf einen Ast; aber noch bevor ich die Kamera auf ihn richten konnte, flog er davon. Die erste verpasste Chance des Tages. Meine Kamera war auf eine etwas längere Verschlusszeit eingestellt, da der Reiher ruhig da saß und ich in diesem Moment nicht mit seinem Abflug rechnete. Seit kurzem experimentiere ich mit dem Fotografieren mit Backbutton Fokus und es ist in manchen Situationen durchaus hilfreich. Allerdings hat sich das veränderte Arbeiten mit zusätzlichen Knöpfen noch nicht im Langteitgedächtnis meiner Finger verewigt. Als nun plötzlich ein zweiter Graureiher meinte, der Jagdpkatz seines Konkurrenten wäre erfolgversprechender als sein eigene und zum Angriff überging, lagen meine Finger weder rechtzeitig auf dem Fokusknopf noch auf dem für die Spotmessung. Ergebnis: Die zweite verpasste Chance des Tages. Von fünf Augnahmen des Kampfes, war nur die letzte halbwegs im Fokus.

When suddenly a second gray heron thought that his competitor's hunting cat would be more promising than his own and attacked, my fingers were neither timely on the focus knob nor on the spot meter. Result: The second missed chance of the day. From five pictures of the fight, only the last was halfway in focus.
