European Cornel

European cornel, also known as cornelian cherry, is a large shrub or small deciduous tree.

In early spring, small bright yellow flowers open all along the bare stems.
A wonderful display and very useful for early foraging insects.

Dutch name : Gele Kornoelje
German name : Kornelkirsche
Latin name : Cornus mas

in bloom everywhere these days! and such a great sunny sign of hope that nature has made it through the winter and is about to wake up forcefully! a beautiful detailed shot of the cornel blossoms, which look like literal power plants. in fact, seen up this close they remind me of individual miniature fireworks or sparklers! greetings, sabine.
