Dear Tommy,

OK with your reflection, and to respect your excellent idea, I think that the exact point could be the same lenght of the katana ON THE PICTURE (so 8 cm form the extremities, looking at this composition) projected on the right and obtain the line where cut on the right : so less 3 cm from the right border and add more 3 cm on the left border. Look it seems well. For my look obviously. : - )

Dear Christian,
thank you for your comment. When working on the picture I thought about how to set the borders. I could have done it "by the book", reducing the space on the right and giving some space to the left, where Peti is looking to.
But I decided not to follow this rule here, because on sword practices the move would now go from the left to the right. That's where the next "attack" will go to. When setting the right border closer to Peti, the strike will go into "emptiness".
The left has some room to be, but will be left shortly. The backgound creates a horizontal line that I like. This graphical element will be minimized if setting the borders closer. Last not least, I really like big open space in a certain kind if images - this one here included. When trying out different cuts, this one was the result I liked most.
Regardless I totally understand your point and I think the picture can be cut differently, creating another mood and maybe a better picture. But it was not what I had in mind initially.

Look your movement is directed on the left and you must have space in this direction and not let all this space on the right. What do you think about ?

Ich finde, die nahezu komplette Tontrennung passt gut zu dem Motiv. Damit wirkt das ganze fast wie ein Scherenschnitt und unterstreicht damit für mich die japanische Atmosphäre des Bildes.

Nee, ich habe leider kein Husky als Cousin, wobei mir die Vorstellung echt gefällt, sondern einen lieben Mann der weiß, dass er bei Aufnahmen im Schnee schnell sein muss. ;)
