Larger Than Life?

The famous 'couple' statue at St Pancras International Station, London, England,
Two contemporary dressed persons, a man and a woman, who have had
a lot of questions asked, about them, and things pondered about them?
Who is saying hullo, good bye to whom, who is arriving, leaving?
Also where is the counterpart 'couple', showing other emotions, being late?
As well as their pose copied by other 'couples' arriving, leaving the station?
Not far from the 'couple', in another part of the station.
Is a statue to Sir John Betjeman, CBE, English poet, writer, broadcaster?
He, his statue is looking up at the arched roof of the extensivly refurbished railway station, the London end of the Eurostar rail link, than at the 'couple'?
