das jährlich stattfindende große Graffiti-Festival in Mainz-Kastel, an dem Hunderte von Graffiti-Künstlern aus aller Welt teilnehmen.

Dieses Spektakel hatte ich mir eigentlich für dieses Jahr gemerkt .. :-(

I guess one has to look at the linguistic background of graffiti ... then it is the same - and yes, here too, real wall art is encouraged by the city (to prevent ugly graffiti which stores owners are legally required to remove with free paint from the city) - and Vancouver has so, so many fine murals :-)))

Adele - well, it is the same, I find - the only difference being that nighttime sprayers and scribblers are amateurish "unprofessional" sprayers, whereas here you have real artists at work, who - of course - do their job fully legally, i.e. with the consent - and support! - of the municipality.

a well captured scene, colourful, alive ... interesting to see the artist. I always wonder why (what we call murals or wall art) this is called graffiti in German (graffiti to us the work of nighttime spraying and scribbling of letters and symbols on empty walls) .....

Ja, Alfons, solltest Du. Allerdings ist es grade vorbei und erst nächstes Jahr (vermutlich im Juni) wieder. Lässt sich gut ergoogeln und verfolgen.
