When you travel in a group, it happens that you are in an great place but at the wrong time. We arrived at Blyde River Canyon about 2 am, and I tried to do my best to get at least an impression of this amazing landscape. I'd love to shoot there again at sunrise.

The Blyde River Canyon is a significant natural feature of South Africa, located in Mpumalanga, and forming the northern part of the Drakensberg escarpment. It is 16 miles (26 km) in length and is, on average, around 2,500 feet (762 m) deep. The Blyderivierpoort Dam, when full, is at an altitude of 665m (2182 feet). The Canyon consists mostly of red sandstone. The highest point of the canyon, Mariepskop, is 6,378 feet (1,944 m) feet above sea level, whilst its lowest point where the river leaves the canyon is slightly less than 1,840 feet (561 m) above sea level. This means that by some measure the Canyon is over 4,500 feet (1,372 m) deep. Wikipedia

Wow, was für ein Blick!!!
Ich war dort am 1.12.1981. Ich war zu Besuch bei meiner Cousine in Johannesburg. Leider habe ich von dort keine Bilder mehr, sodass ich die Reise anhand meiner Notitzen mittels Google Earth nachvollziehen musste.
Wir waren damals während des Urlaubs meines Cousins in den Drakensbergen und dem Krüger Nationalpark unterwegs.
Wir wohnten in der ersten Woche in einem Feriencamp das heute (lt. Google Earth)
Aventura Blydepoort heißt und nördlich von Moremela an der R532 liegt.
Der Aussichtspunkt, an dem wir waren
liegt Luftlinie etwa 2 km östl. des Camps.
Dein Bild ist wegen des Gegenlichts noch
zusätzlich reizvoll.

Ich verstehe überhaupt nicht, warum Du die Qualität bemängelst. Die Lichtstimmung ist einmalig und für meine Begriffe ist dies traumhaft schön und absolut optimal eingefangen. Hach, wunderbar...
