Put Out to Pasture......

.....this old sickle-bar for cutting hay is out dated and taken to the back pasture near the road where passers by who might be interested in buying it for an advertising prop might see it and inquire about buying it. Used to be a person could buy something like this for scrap metal prices, now they want more for them then they cost new.....

Thanks for the clicks and comments.....

Memories of the past will most probably still work with a touch of TLC, when its modern equivalent gone or updated

a piece of cultural history put out to grass. Even here there are odd places where you can see the old farm impliments set aside gathering moss and with grass and nettles growing up through them as they are left to rust away......
    A well taken shot.

It is amazing what some people will pay for old farm equipment around here too. They are paying more than the new price after inflation. A nice way to landscape when water is scarce.
    Great shot Dennis!
