Reach for the Stars

This is a very big copy (the angel at the foot of the beam is about life size) of one of Carl Milles' sculptures, and additionally a water fountain, in one of Stockholms suburbs.
Its original name is "Gud Fader på Regnbågen", or "Gud Fader på Himlabågen" - Godfather on the rainbow / sky beam(?).
Originally it was planned to be constructed in front of the United Nations' headquarters in New York, but now it is greeting the passengers coming to Stockholm by boat from the archipelago and baltic sea.

One of my first attempts to make a night shot with my new camera! Strangely I was the only one taking pictures there, although the photo tradeshow (foto2006.se) 500m away was just finished. Apparently all other photographers went straight home :-)

Hallo Timm,
grossartig hast Du diese wunderschöne Skulptur
mit der nächtlichen Stimmung eingefangen.
Ein feiner Effekt, wie der Bogen scheinbar tranparent
wird. Gefällt mir sehr.

Nicht so bescheiden Timm .... das Gesamtbild
wirkt wirklich gut ... ich mag es. Nach oben hin
Platz zu schaffen wäre hier recht einfach aber
nicht nötig.

@Gray: Naja, so glücklich bin ich mit dem Bildaufbau nicht, nach oben ist es mir zu eng! Vielleicht hätte ich auch nicht drehen sollen, jetzt ist zwar der Horizont einigermassen gerade, aber die Plattform selber schief, und oben noch weniger Platz als im Original. Naja, ein Kompromiss eben...
Eine Ausrede hab ich aber immer noch: Mit Stativ wäre es sicher besser geworden ;-)
