Schleissheim New Palace
In the beautiful rear gardens of the Schleissheim New Palace, just north of Munich. The palace is designed in French late baroque style, along the lines of the Palace of Versailles. Construction was started right at the beginning of the 18th century, and the building was fully completed in 1726.
It is full of works by major artists, and in particular has some spectacular tapestries.
The original Old Palace was built roughly a hundred years earlier and is a smaller country mansion in Italian style that is also still maintained.
