as we exit the Red Sea and enter the Gulf of Aqaba .... I was surprised to see the high mountains here ...

Sharm el-Sheikh is a city situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, on the coastal strip along the Red Sea. Its population is approximately 73,000 as of 2015. Sharm el-Sheikh is the administrative hub of Egypt's South Sinai Governorate, which includes the smaller coastal towns of Dahab and Nuweiba as well as the mountainous interior, St. Catherine's Monastery and Mount Sinai. It is now a holiday resort and significant centre for tourism in Egypt. (thank you, Wiki)

Aber inzwischen wieder eine für die Touristen etwas riskante Ecke zum Urlaubmachen. Schönes Foto, wahrscheinlich vom Kreuzfahrtschiff aus aufgenommen.

I've got memories from this lovely place.Adele,that I visited seven years ago.Flying from Cairo to Sharm el Sheikh I lost my suitcase recollecting it couple of days later!..But I also got the chance of visiting the imposing St. Catherine's monastery after crossing Sinai desert in a memorable trip. Nice shot.

Herrlich, das intensive Blau des Wasser, - schön der Blick zum Strand und den Häusern! Ein richtiger Hingucker ist diese hohe Palme, die sich wunderbar gegen den Berg abhebt! Und die Berge sind wirklich beeindruckend! Sehr schön, wie der HG in Unschärfe verläuft!
