The Baldan Baraivan in renovation

Since 1998 the Cultural Restoration Tourist Project is restoring the main temple. Volunteer tourists and a local crew combine forces to make Baldan Baraivan a lively place of worship again and so give back some of Mongolia's cultural heritage.
It will just take some more months to complied the whole renewing of the monastery complex, which was completely destroyed by the Russian invasion 1937. At the complex once were living between 2,000 and 3,000 monks, when it was founded in 1700 approximately 5 to 6,000 monks were practicing at the site.
For nearly 60 years nobody was allowed to visit the Baldan Baraivan site.

Das ist Wahr! die russische Kommunisten haben in gesamten Mongolei unmenschlich viele Leid hinzugefügt und niemand füllt sich jetzt dafür verantwortlich. Man spricht nicht mal dieses Thema an.

danke Sylvia, seit 1998 arbeitet die "Cultural Restauration Tourist Project" am Wiederaufbau. Ebenfalls viele Freiwillige aus dem In- und Ausland beteiligen sich an der Restauration der fast total zerstörten Tempel-Anlage.
Die Russen, deren Kommunisten ehemals die Anlage total zerstörten und Hunderte Mönche massakrierten oder vertrieben, tun hier gar nichts für den Wiederaufbau. Gruß Wolfgang
