The Fungi world (114) : Candlesnuff fungus / 1 month later

This shot was taken when half of the snow was melted in the forest.

Those Candlesnuff fungi survived surprisingly well the mass of snow and the freezing cold temperatures.
They are only 0,5cm high, but it seems to be tough guys…!

Dutch name : Geweizwam
German name : Geweihförmige Holzkeule
Latin name : Xylaria hypoxylon

Same place, same stump and same fungi as in the picture below, 30 days later.

Auch in diesem Stadium trägt der kleine Pilz seinen Namen zu Recht! Wunderschönes Licht liegt auf dem Baumstumpf und das grüne Moos und das vergehende Holz haben dadurch sehr schöne, warme Farben! Der Schnee mit seinen feinen Kristallen gibt einen schönen Kontrast!
